It’s Digi Launch Day: New Vintage Pear Stamps for Fall

It’s exciting to be back after a long break! We’re celebrating the first day of Fall with new digis and lots of cardmaking inspiration. Starting today we’ll be sharing a new Digi Launch every Thursday for the next 3 or 4 weeks. We’ll also introduce our new Freebie Friday that will let you download exclusive freebies on the shop. Nothing says Autumn in the crafty world like earthy colors! I grabbed my go to watercolor palette and brought to life our new Vintage Pears Digital Stamp Set to make a 5″x 7″ card. This printable set comes with a vintage style pear branch, handdrawn by yours truly. By the way, a plain illustration just wasn’t doing it for us, so we had to go back and add engraved details by hand. Watercoloring these pears is a treat! When coloring fruit is always fun to play with different hues, highlights and shadows and even dimension.

I used mainly 4 or 5 watercolors from the palette. Starting with lime yellow and green, that I then deepened with a sienna and orange plus some touches of red… I kept some parts of the pears lighter to give them dimension and highlights. I’ll be sharing a sped up coloring video of the process soon on social media that you might want to check out. I didn’t have it in me to crop the image so I made it into a framed inset layout that allows you to see most of the colored illustration. To finish off the card, I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops. 🙂
