Floral Balloons Birthday Card with Hey Friend Stamps

Happy Friday! It doesn’t get happier than this… A super colorful, birthday card with a fun twist. Today I have a card using the new stamps from the kit Hey Friend as balloons! This is one of my latest kits for Unity Stamp Co. and it is one of the most versatile kits I’ve designed… All images and sentiments included in this set can be used and mixed in different ways, allowing you to create unique projects with it every time!

This week I’ve been sharing a few videos on Instagram showing how I colored and put together this card. If you want to take a peek make sure to follow me over there.

This was my first time using the new Amalgam Ink and it does everything it is supposed to do and more. I hand stamped the floral elements on Canson Watercolor paper and also the sentiments on vellum, which I then heat embossed in black. (This ink will dry on vellum in case you’re wondering.) I didn’t need to set the ink at all to start watercoloring the flowers with Zig Clean Color markers, which is great.

I die cut the frame from an Echo Park Summer Dreams patterned paper using an old but cute Spellbinders die called Diamond Effects. I adhered a piece of Polka Dots Clear Toner Sheet behind the frame, foiled with Summer Rainbow Deco Foil, just for fun, no shaker this time.

I fussy cut the flowers with Westcott precision scissors and added them to the card front using XL Tape Runner and 3D Zots by Therm O web. I tried to make the flowers look like balloons, so I used them upside down, adhering them as a cluster.

To finish my card I added the vellum banners with the sentiments and a bunch of pretty sequins by Unity.

Hope you enjoyed! Make sure to visit me on Instagram to watch how I put together this card! Also stay tuned for a second post coming up later today! Until then.
