A Winter Gazebo

For what I’ve heard from dear friends of mine around the world, the weather is reaching very low temperatures… A friend in Arizona, Sue from Sue Paper Crafts, got a LOT of snow… Huh! She wasn’t counting on that for sure! Back where I live we’ve been fortunate enough to have gotten rainy days, but it doesn’t even get somewhat near to other countries’ winters. This brings me to my card for today… A winter themed card!

This week at Classy Cards ‘n Such we are celebrating our first challenge of the year and it’s a color inspiration challenge (using teal) with a twist… Add a snowflake!

For today’s card I used many intricate die cuts. I combined different tones of teal, with vanilla, tan and white.

I used Spellbinders Gazebo to die cut the delicate shape from teal patterned paper from ODBD. I picked another coordinating paper from the same set to cut a snowflake with Stampendous Snowflake. I thought a second snowflake would look great, so I die cut another one from Fancy Pants patterned paper and embellished it with a small white medallion I cut with Spellbinders Victorian Medallion Two. I added a pretty flourish die cut with Our Daily Bread Designs Fancy Foliage and once I adhered all the elements together on top of the gazebo, I created a lovely snowflake cluster.

If you know me, then you know my card base was die cut with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A, but this time I die cut a window on it too. I used the very new Spellbinders Victoria Border Strip. I adhered the layer to my white card base and before mounting the beautiful gazebo and snowflakes, I added a doily die cut from Cheery Lynn Designs called English Tea Party, that way the intricate die cuts would stand out a bit more.

To finish the design I added tan ribbon and a bow across the front of the card and also some pearl stickers, including Baby Pearls – Le Creme, which matched the ribbon very nicely.

I hope you liked my card for today! Remember that Classy Cards ‘n Such is giving away a wonderful prize from the store to the winner, so join us this week for a chance to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
