Time is flying, and it seems that it’ll be Christmas before we know it! So I think a good Christmas challenge is a great excuse to catch up on all those holiday cards that need to be ready on time! This week at Classy Cards ‘n Such our challenge is Trim a Tree: Use a Christmas tree with Gold and/or Silver. What an elegant and classy combination for a holiday card!
I decided to make a cleaner card this week, but of course as always you’ll notice I used detailed filigree dies, which I find work great with Christmas designs.
To make my card I die cut a frame from cream embossed metallic cardstock using the Vintage Flourish Pattern set. Then I die cut a Christmas tree from the silver back of a Delicate Pastels Craft Foil by Spellbinders with an old Christmas Tree die from my stash. I also die cut two stars from the silver foil and from embossed gold paper using some new dies from Our Daily Bread Designs.
I made my card base using A2 Matting Basics A. Before adding the die cuts I attached a piece of Old Gold – Sheer Asiana ribbon vertically to the back of the cream frame. I adhered these intricate dies with Tombow Mono Multi Glue. Finally I added a little gold bow to the bottom of the silver tree.
