This birthday card was made to look like an album. It has an inside pocket to add gift cards or any other goodies. I worked a lot with metallic papers and dry embossing. TIP: I sprayed the metallic cardstock with body spray (that’s right!), the alcohol in it helps to wear out the shimmer and the paper embosses better too. The flowers were handmade using different techniques to give them a very organic look.
A lot of distress inks were used, but in a subtle way. The spanish sentiments (‘May God Bless You’ and ‘Happy Birthday’) where heat embossed in silver. And the final touches included pearl stamens, fused string pearls and ribbon.
I hope you like my card and that you find this sketch fun to work with. Please join us at Cardabilities for a chance to win a featured designer spot during the next reveal.
