Blue Shabby Love

Hi my beloved readers! Today I have a new project for you… A scrapbook page! I’ve managed to create a few things with remainders and punches. I love card making, but whenever I take a good pic or when I come across one on my computer, I feel the need to scrapbook. The inspiration for today’s project comes from a color board at the Craft Hoarders Anonymous’ current challenge. And I just happen to have a paper pad on that color palette!

Materials
Cloud 9 Design – Wild Indigo
Heidy Grace Designs – Celebration
K & Company – Life’s Journey Stamp Collage Embossed Paper
Shery K. Designs – Antoinette (vintage handwriting)
Marvy Uchida:
– Silhouette & embossing super jumbo punch: Butterfly
– Silhouette & embossing super jumbo punch: Sunflower (for both flowers)
Spellbinders:
– Grand Labels
– A2 matting basics
– Gold Elements One (flourish)
– Rose Creations (leaves)
– Adorning Squares (sentiment corners)
– Classic Labels Four
Inkadinkado embossing powder
Prima Marketing Stamps – Lady Bird Collection
Penny Black Stamps – Tweet Tweet
Ranger Distress Ink: Broken China, Vintage Photo
Ranger embossing ink
Merletto gems
Bazic two sided tape and mounting tape
Stanley 14 watts mini glue gun
Hot melt glue sticks
Other generic materials
Vellum
Fused string pearl beads
3/8″ gross grain ribbon in Cream
DIY pearl pins

The picture I worked with was taken long, long ago. My son was still a little baby and he was taking a nap with my sister. He loves her! Even now he just wants to hang with her whenever he visits my mom’s house. I edited this picture to give it a vintage look.

There are some details that I hand cut from original die cuts, for example: the large corner flourish and the smaller tag corners are hand cut from Spellbinders dies. Another trick was, I created both flowers with the same sunflower punch. The vellum flower for instance was created with seven punched sunflowers each of them folded in half and then rolled to create a bud. Oh I almost forgot, this was a 12″ by 12″ page, so to give it a twist a reaped it and turned the negative facing the front to create a contrast line.

And that’s it! This is a shocking color change considering all of February’s pinks and reds, right? Anyways, hope you like it!
