Oversized Flower Stamps • Using Pigment Powders & Ink Sprays to Color

Hey everyone! We’ve been sharing so many new stamps over at the shop every week and I’ve been very active on social media… So I thought I’d stop by and share a quick step by step on my latest card featuring our latest digital stamp set called Far Away Hugs Digital Stamp Set.

Oversized floral stamps are in! All of us in the design team love to resize and print flowers at around 4″ or 5″ wide and use them off the border of our cards. It’s a bold and trendy look and it’s always fun to create cards with that technique!

Check out how I cut this large flower in half to frame my card and create this layered effect!

1. I printed the flower on @cansonpaper_northamerica mixed media paper on a laser printer.

2. I colored the image first with @colourcraftltd brusho and activated the pigment with @ranger_ink Distress Ink Sprays instead of plain water. Finally, I added shading and depth to the petals with an @artezaofficial brush pen.

3. For the card I die cut an Art Deco diamond shape from black cardstock with a @teamspellbinders die and cut it in half.

4. I cut in half the flower and adhered it to the die cut pieces using @thermoweb black foam tape.

5. I attached the layered pieces to each side of the card front vertically to create a shifted frame.

6. I also printed a “far away hugs” sentiment on an inkjet printer on plain white layering weight cardstock, die cut it with a @thermoweb single stitch design circle die and attached it with black foam squares to the center of the card.

7. Finally, I used a @sharpie white paint pen to splatter white dots and create the final artsy look on this card.
