Coffee or Cocoa, whatever keeps you grounded (smile) • New Coffee Stamp Set

Happy Monday! I truly hope it’s a good one for you (and me, as well)! I know there’s always so much to do in a week, and our schedules are usually full, but I also know that somehow we manage to find time to stay creative! That creativity is healing and inspiring…

It was a series of little creative breaks what brought me here today! Last week, I found myself illustrating a new stamp set, and then making a card with it! This new set is fun, sweet and extra cute! It is called Coffee or Cocoa, and it is the biggest coffee themed stamp set we’ve ever put together! It comes with 3 images, and 8 sentiments… (Lots of fun!)

Extra Layered Background using SVG Cut Files and Digital Papers

This card comes with many layers… I started out by cutting one of the new Heart Cards SVG backgrounds on my Cricut Explore Air 2, from white cardstock. Next, I layered a torn piece of patterned paper from the Sweet Love Digital Paper Pack and attached it across the center of the background using Deco Foil Foam Adhesive Sheets. I also adhered a second layer of the same patterned paper underneath the white heart panel, with the same foam sheets. All of this was then added to a GK Passionate Pink Premium Cardstock card base.

Printing & Coloring my Images

I had so much fun overlaying and printing both heart cups together! I used Microsoft Word to do it… Because of the way the images are created, you’ll be able to do overlays like this one very easily, so no technical knowledge is required… Just insert the images, and place one on top of the other, and then print! I used an inkjet Brother Printer, since regular ink works great with alcohol markers, and that is what I wanted to color the heart cups with! I printed them on Canson Mixed Media Paper.

I used Spectrum Noir markers from the Magenta and Green Teal color family for the cups, and then Red Browns and Muted Browns for the cocoa and coffee. A white gel pen came in handy at the very end to emphasize the little white dots on the cocoa, and also paint some art on the coffee with the help of an Arteza waterbrush (smile).

The sentiment on the other hand, was printed using a Samsung laser printer, because toner is what works better with vellum. I attached the cups with 3D Foam Squares and the sentiment banner with the new GK Adhesive Dot Runner. Finally I added some Unity Sequins using Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive.

  1. It’s a gorgeous stamp set and awesome card and I would say, give me cocoa ( it’s freezing here) and coffee because I love both. Thank you for sharing.
