Hello! Today’s Christmas card is a combination of elements that ended up looking so very elegant and festive. It wasn’t planned that way… In fact, I had colored this image quite a bit ago and had forgotten about it! Yesterday, I decided to use if for a card, because I totally love this cocoa cup digital stamp!
I watercolored this stamp from the Christmas Cheer digital stamp using Arteza Real Brush Pens and a Sharpie white paint marker for added details. I layered the sentiment and sized it to fit inside the cup and then printed it on Canson Mixed Media Paper, using a laser printer. To be able to watercolor the image, I heat set the toner using a heat gun, just to make sure the image will remain intact while I start adding water and color to it.
One thing I also tend to do is seal the watercolored image with a fixative spray. That will protect your work and avoid any accidents that could ruin your coloring or the card itself once it’s done. This time I used Therm O Web’s Glitter Spray which will not only protect your image but it will also add lots of sparkle with micro glitter goodness!
For the background I basically created an inset frame using Echo Park’s A Perfect Christmas patterned papers and Spellbinders dies. For the inner frame I also layered a Brutus Monroe Distress Circle Clear Designer Toner Sheet foiled with Brutus Monroe Tide Pool Foil Transfer Sheets.
To finish my card I added a big triple bow on one side using white seam binding ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I also added some Nuvo Crystal Drops just for fun.
