Create Clear Stickers with Unity Stamps for Bible Journaling

Happy Monday! I’m wondering if you’ve had a chance to join our latest blog hop with Unity Stamp Company? If you haven’t make sure to click HERE. There are lots of prizes for grabs and of course tons of inspiration!

Today I’d like to share a bible journaling page I made using the new Hey Friend rubber stamp kit. As you may know this is one of five new kits I’ve created with Unity and this time I’m using them in a different way, making the images look like floating balloons instead of hanging elements. Extra cute!

The images were stamped on Clear Adhesive Backed Sheets by Grafix and fussy cut to create my own stickers. This is a great alternative if you don’t like to stamp directly on your Bible margin. The sentiment was a little long for the margin. I stamped it as usual and then cut it in 3 pieces prior to adhering it to the page. As for the ink, I would suggest perhaps using a Archival ink since you are basically stamping on a plastic sheet to create your stickers.

When it comes to coloring the images, I applied some Distress Crayons right were I thought they would be adhered. The clear Grafix sheets will allow the color to show through so that was actually quite simple to achieve. Overall this was a very spontaneous and simple page to make. Hey Friend is such a playful and versatile stamp kit and it looks beautiful on art journaling because of the modern sketchy trace the images have.

You must know that this page was prepped with clear gesso before I started adding color to it. I love to apply 2 or 3 layers of Clear Gesso from the Crafter’s Workshop with an Ink Blending Tool by Ranger.

I have a quick video showing the most important steps of the process behind this page. You will see me use Distress Crayons, Pan Pastel, paint pens, washi tape, TCW stencils and Illustrated Faith stickers. Click below to watch:

This was the verse that inspired my page:
Deutoronomy 31:6

To finish my Bible page I ended up using a couple of splashes of Distress Ink Stains, just to fill the white spaces. I also wrote fragments of the verse around the images.

Love, love, love how whimsical and pretty this page turned out. It really did not take much time and I find that using stamps to create stickers is very helpful. You could even keep several ready to use whenever you find a chance to do your art journaling.

  1. I love bible journaling. I meet with friends twice a month to do this. I love how you created the stickers. Great idea and love the way you did the coloring behind. The stencil idea is sweet and soft. Beautiful bible journaling. Thanks for the video.
