For the Glory of God – ODBD Sketch Challenge

Welcome to a new challenge post for Our Daily Bread Designs! This week we have a sketch for you. I brainstormed quite a bit to try to translate the sketch to my design seamlessly, so to speak. I knew I wanted to try out the new Lacey Layered Squares Dies to create a shabby chic frame and that’s exactly how today’s design started out.

I used metallic cardstock for the frame, and I decided to create a delicate bouquet inspired in the soft silver tone of the frame. Once again I was drawn to use the beautiful Shabby Rose Collection papers that happened to go along so well with the design!

I made a different style of flowers with the Aster Dies for my shabby column and I embellished them with die cut leaves and flourishes as well as with some other elements. For the horizontal column I used a vellum banner that I heat embossed with a verse from the set Glory. The lonely element on the top of the sketch was the perfect excuse to use this beautiful silver heart charm. I adhered all the elements to an embossed piece of patterned paper. In addition and as always I needed to add rhinestones and pearls to finish my card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post! To see all the projects created for ODBDSLC234 or to join the challenge click here. You have until April 19, 2015 at 8:00pm EDT to join us.
