Classy Cards 'n Such, folds, handmade flowers, Shabby Chic, Valentine's, weekly challenge16 Comments

This week’s challenge at Classy Cards ‘n Such is Thoughtful using the range of colors from the inspiration photo (see here). There are so many pretty colors on the photo, chances are you will be inspired instantly! Adding sentiments such as “Thinking of you”, “In my thoughts”, “Here for you” and more would certainly be fitting for the challenge. There is still time to join so I hope you can share your  creation with us in the next couples of days. I went for a “thinking of you” card combined with a Valentine’s theme.

I embellished the front of the card with handmade flowers. Crepe paper works wonderful for flowers and though you have to be very careful while you make them it’s oh so worth it. I sponged the petals edges with dark ink and sprayed the center with lighter tones. This gave the flowers an organic, vintage look.

When you open this pretty card you are welcomed by a 3D, pop-up Eiffel Tower! I actually cut four flaps on each side of the card with an exacto knife to adhere the towers. I added another cupid and a Thinking of you sentiment from my stamp set Parisian Postcard to the tower to finish the design!

  8. This is a gorgeous card! I love those flowers and I thought we were done and then the inside had another gorgeous addition with the pop up!! You did such a great job. Thanks for sharing with us at Creative Knockouts.
