Vintage Postcard Zinnias

Hello! A rainy day to me is a good day, and today we have a cloudy, showery day here in Honduras’ industrial city. Couldn’t be better! And to go with the peaceful, nostalgic, rainy flow, I have a vintage card to share with you, created with another wonderful customizable set from Sweet n’ Sassy stamps. But then of course, I couldn’t resist using some Flourishes’ florals as well.

Materials
Sweet & Sassy stamps – Vintage Postcard
Flourishes stamps – Zinnia
Prima Marketing stamps – Vintage Vanity: Fence
Brilliance pigment ink – Graphite Black, Pearlescent Beige
Memento dye ink – Rich Cocoa
ColorBox pigment ink – Orchid
Spectrum Noir markers – Reds, Pinks
Faber Castell color pencils – 076 069, 010; 070, 063

Hero Arts Cleardesign Block – Large Letter
Inkadinkado embossing powder – Clear

Ranger Distress Ink – Old Paper, Vintage Photo, Spun Sugar
Ranger blending tool
Shery K. Designs paper – Antoinnette
Canon MG2220 printer
Merletto pearl stickers
Bazic mounting tape
Other generic materials
Specialty metallic cardstock – Pearlescent pink
Textured cardstock – Brown
Hawaii cardstock – White
3/8″ Gross grain ribbon – Light Brown
I haven’t mentioned this before but I not only love flowers in stamps, I also have flowers at home. And on the front of my house I have Zinnias, in every possible color. My zinnias look a lot like the ones on the card, so coloring this image was a delight to me. . I mixed techniques again and you possibly can’t tell right away that the vase and the leaves are actually water colored. Everything was stamped on white cardstock, that I then distressed with Old Paper ink mostly. I distressed the Zinnias quite a bit, I wanted to dull their brightness, so that they could match the vintage feel of the whole postcard.
I added some clear embossing powder to the sentiment and the background stamped pattern, and because I used pigment ink there was no need of embossing ink.
And to finish this 5 x 7 card, I used some ribbon and pearls that definitely gave the design the final touch of vintage it needed.
Hope you like it! Enjoy your weekend, stay creative and rest!
